Escape NYC Retreat | Total Newbie: Daytrippin’ to Beacon & Back

Your perfect day trip from New York City starts with a scenic 90 minute train ride along the Hudson.  Once in Beacon, we will leisurely warm-up on a 25 minute walk to the trailhead.  Mount Beacon is a steep, rigorous, but worthwhile climb to the top (about 45 minutes), and an easy climb back down the mountain (about 30 minutes) before we walk into town for a guided tour.

  • Expert-led scenic hike up Mount Beacon

Escape NYC Retreat | Fitness Warrior: Hike, Kayak, & Paddle Your Heart Out!

Your weekend warrior day starts with a scenic 90 minute train ride along the Hudson before heading up towards Breakneck Ridge, the most strenuous hike in the East Hudson Highlands. It involves steep but rewarding climbs with many spectacular views over the Hudson River.  Proper footwear is essential for this hike.  Make sure to pack a hearty lunch and plenty of water, because your adventure continues with a 1-hour kayak, canoe, or paddle through Constitution Marsh.

You’ll need to use both your hands and your feet in many places along the way

Your Escape NYC Retreat Package includes:

  • Expert-led scenic 3.5 hours hike up Breakneck Ridge
  • Healthy and delicious hiking snack pack
  • 1-hour kayak, stand-up paddleboard, or canoe rental (tandem kayaks and canoes also available upon request)

About Bouldering Babes BB is lifestyle fitness: taking women from ‘I can’t’ – which affects everything in her life, and how she relates to the world – to feeling 100% empowered to transform their everyday lives.

BB was created by Jeanne, an avid adventurer, professional rock climbing instructor, experienced mountaineer, and fellow bouldering babe with a passion for rock, ice, and snow.

Jeanne has climbed extensively abroad, from the boulders of British Virgin Gorda to the mountains of Malaysia, Morocco, and Kenya.  She has taught rock climbing safety, basic and advanced techniques (e.g. belaying and lead climbing), and instructed private and semi-private clients of all ages and levels at Equinox since October 2012, and currently runs a weekly Women’s Bouldering Clinic in New York City.
